PrivacyCam is designed with privacy as its primary goal. All camera processing occurs locally on your device. PrivacyCam does not require an account and does not transmit your camera feed to the developer.
PrivacyCam does not collect personally identifiable information such as:
PrivacyCam processes your camera stream locally on your device in order to apply visual effects such as blur, pixelation, freeze frame, and other privacy features.
Your camera stream is processed entirely in memory and is never transmitted to the developer or any third party.
PrivacyCam stores certain settings using Chrome's extension storage so your preferences persist between browser sessions. These settings may include:
These settings remain on your device and are not transmitted to our servers.
PrivacyCam requires access to supported websites so it can integrate with browser-based video meeting applications and replace the camera stream with the locally processed stream selected by the user.
PrivacyCam does not collect, store, or transmit website content, page text, browsing history, form data, or personal communications.
PrivacyCam does not sell, rent, or share user data with third parties.
PrivacyCam does not download or execute remote JavaScript or WebAssembly code. All executable code is packaged within the extension.
PrivacyCam does not use analytics services, advertising networks, tracking services, or remote telemetry.
Because processing occurs locally, your camera data remains under your control. Any settings stored by the extension are stored using Chrome Extension Storage on your device.
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Any updates will be published on this page.
If you have questions regarding this Privacy Policy or PrivacyCam, please contact the developer through the project's support page or repository.
